As an urbanite, I love the energy of the city. Yet I also know the calm and peace that trees and forests bring: the subtle movement of delicate leaves in the breeze, branches reaching out like welcoming arms, and trunks standing firm like strong backbones. A forest may appear chaotic, yet it lives and breathes as one community.

Through my work, I explore the community, the powerful presence, and the peace of mind that trees bring to our lives. Inspired by the hidden networks beneath the soil — the delicate fungal connections, the so-called “Wood Wide Web” — I reflect on how trees support and protect one another. In forests, survival is collective. Strength lies in connection.

The overwhelming power of trees becomes visible when we ask ourselves: What would happen if we stopped cultivating nature in our urban spaces? Nature would return. Quietly. Persistently. Powerfully. Through sprouts, fungi, and steady growth, it would reclaim what we built.

With my photographs, I want to show my respect and remind us that trees are generous. They clean our air, store carbon, cool our cities, hold water, and provide shelter, food, tea, herbs, and medicine. Since the beginning of human history, they have supported our development, such as building materials and paper. Yet in modern cities, we often walk past them without truly seeing them.
